Assemblage Point

In various traditions associated with the Toltec, there is often a reference made to what is called your assemblage point. Like many terms encountered in spiritual teachings, it is given the power to mystify and misdirect. Like all symbols that are used in ordinary communication, its power is determined by the one who uses it.

Each of you has supreme authority over the words, phrases and concepts that are the fabric of your dream. As it happens, you were programmed from your earliest stages of development to follow the command of words as they were presented to you, complete with borrowed meanings and emotional charges.

Somewhere in your surrender to the power of symbols, you lost awareness of yourself as the creator of symbols and the commander of symbols. You lost the awareness that you are your most persuasive symbol, with a name, a history and an image that have proudly defied modification over time.

You believe what you think you are. You believe what you think you know. As you allow yourself to question your knowledge and see yourself as a product of thoughts and ideas, you begin to allow a greater awareness to guide you and define you. You begin to allow a gradual shift into absolute awareness.

I refer to common sense as an art. Concepts and opinions, being given so much authority over time, blind us to what is simple and obvious. Even common sense has become uncommonly complicated. No one seems to agree about what it means. Seeing what is – not what we have been taught to see or what we want to see – is the best way to recover common sense and inherent wisdom.

Life is everything imagined and unimaginable, everything real and assumed to be real. There are an infinite number of ways for life to be expressed and experienced. The consciousness in all life forms can be called a dream. Both the physical form and the dream within are points of consciousness. Both can be described as a place where life assembles information in order to create perception.

You are such an assemblage point. Your beautiful human body, in its entirety, is one point from which life perceives. Your magnificent mind, made of symbols and the memories born of symbols, is a point of perception. It is a dream that tells stories about victories, losses, joys and despairs. It tells stories about power and helplessness. The way it perceives is pure artistry. But it represents only one of the countless points of perception in a universe that is limited only by the human imagination.

There is nothing to change or to manipulate with regard to assemblage points. There is only you, a cognizant life form, on a journey to greater comprehension. The way in which you perceive determines your happiness while you live as a human being on this planet. Open your eyes and see. Just see. Life will respond authentically and spontaneously.

Life is what you are, after all.

Barara,
If this assemblage point is the collector of our thoughts and dreams in consciouness, then why is it that the subconsciouess is not giving us a clearer picture of what is going on in our lives so that we could live authentically.
